Welcome to the Edible Garden at Johnson Elementary School! This garden was created in the spring of 2009 in order to show how lessons learned in the classroom can apply to the natural world. Teachers are given a planting bed to use with their classrooms to apply lesson about everything from plant and animal adaptation and ecology, to math, literature and even social studies with this year’s classes growing a Colonial Garden and Native American “Three Sisters” garden.
FALL 2010

We have seen the bounty of the edible garden this September as the students return to school. The garden has welcomed the students back in full bloom.
